On Labor Day, we honor the generations of workers—union members, immigrants, federal employees, public servants, and those whose jobs are sustained by federal programs—who keep our communities running even in the face of unprecedented challenges.
Across the country, too many families are struggling to keep jobs, pay bills, and feel secure in their workplaces. Federal workers and those supported by grants or funding face uncertainty and disruption. Immigrants—who have always been the backbone of our workforce—continue to face hostility and danger, even as they give so much to our nation.
We also recognize the unbelievable work of labor unions, whose organizing and advocacy over the decades secured protections we often take for granted: the 40-hour work week, weekends, safer working conditions, fairer wages, and the right to organize. Unions remain as integral today as ever—fighting for dignity, justice, and equality for all working people.
But Labor Day is also about the power of solidarity. We are strongest when we come together across differences, when we stand shoulder-to-shoulder to demand fair wages, safe workplaces, and dignity for every worker.
The Democratic Party of Valencia County honors all workers today and every day. Together, we can ensure that working families not only survive but thrive—because an injury to one is an injury to all.
✊🏽 Happy Labor Day from DPVC.
