CANDIDATE SPOTLIGHT: RORIK RIVENBURGH Democratic Candidate for Valencia County Magistrate Judge, Division III
When we elect a judge, we place an extraordinary amount of trust in one person. We trust them to listen before reaching conclusions. To separate facts from assumptions. To apply the law fairly. And, above all, to bring honesty, integrity, and sound judgment to the bench every single day.
Rorik Rivenburgh has spent a lifetime demonstrating those qualities.
Rorik worked for UPS for 30 years, building a career defined by hard work, responsibility, and consistency. For more than 20 of those years, his coworkers elected him to serve as their union shop steward, entrusting him to represent employees, resolve disputes, listen to all sides, and work toward fair and consistent outcomes.
That commitment to fairness didn’t end when Rorik retired. Today, he serves our community as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), advocating for children in foster care, and as a volunteer Aging and Long-Term Care Ombudsman, standing up for residents of senior living facilities.
These aren’t positions built around recognition. They are positions built around trust.
Rorik has also been married to his wife for 42 years, and their daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter live next door. His life reflects something we value deeply in those entrusted with public office: stability, responsibility, service, and commitment to others.
Rorik understands that a Magistrate Judge can make decisions that profoundly affect people’s lives. He believes those decisions must be based on the law and the facts, never personal opinions, and that every person who enters the courtroom deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
There is a simple question voters can ask when choosing someone to sit on the bench:
