The Democratic Party of Valencia County, in partnership with Young Democrats of New Mexico, invites volunteers, candidates, and community members to join us for a special canvass and training event on Saturday, May 23.
This event will feature a Labor Notes training called “Beating Apathy,” designed to help volunteers build confidence, strengthen organizing skills, and learn how to have meaningful conversations with voters. The training will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run for approximately two hours.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the full program starting at 9:30 a.m. and closing around 12:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
After the training, attendees will be encouraged to put their new skills into action during the upcoming Get Out the Vote weekend from May 30 through June 1. We will have voter contact lists available for volunteers to take home and work on at their own pace. Because the training itself will be the main focus of the day, volunteers are not expected to canvass immediately afterward unless they choose to.
Candidates are welcome and encouraged to attend, and they are invited to bring volunteers from their campaigns. This is a great opportunity to build skills, connect with other Democrats, and prepare for the important voter outreach work ahead.
To RSVP and receive the location, please visit: https://www.mobilize.us/nmdemocrats/event/957577/
Together, we can defeat apathy, strengthen our organizing efforts, and help turn out voters when it matters most.
