We’re now 3 weeks out from the December 9 runoff, and every shift, call, and conversation matters. From the doors and phones, we find our biggest challenge is simply reminding people that they must go out and vote again by December 9—not that they’re unclear about who to support—Tim Keller or Darren White.

Here are this week’s updates and ways to get involved:

Campaign Updates

  • Monday, November 18, campaign finance reports were due (they’re due each Monday). Darren White has raised $170K since the Nov. 4 election. (We received $377K in public financing). Financially, Darren is competitive!
  • Last Monday was the first Mayoral Debate: the mayor did really well — and Darren White made it clear just how harmful his leadership would be for Albuquerque. Watch the full debate here. Find clips of the debate on our social media.
  • We got a campaign Link tree! All campaign-related links, updates, and resources can be found here.
  • Huge thanks to volunteers from Wards 11, 20C, 27B, and 30C who knocked doors last weekend! We have more ward door knocking coming up! Mayor Keller even made a surprise visit to one of the groups. I attached a photo for you to see.
  • We released our anti-Darren White ad. Watch it here.
  • We have “Vote Dec 9” stickers to add to your yard signs! If you have a yard sign and want to add a “Vote Dec 9” sticker – let us know by replying to this email.
  • We were endorsed by Rio Grande Indivisible! I attached the graphic and you can check out our other endorsements here.

In the News

  • Two new op-eds ran in the Albuquerque Journal: One by Mark Trujillo, Political Director with IBEW Local 611 and one by former Mayor Marty Chavez. Read them here and here, respectively.
  • Tuesday, there was an article about Alex Uballez and the nonprofit groups withholding their support, still. The Mayor said it best when he said, “We had productive meetings and identified a great deal of common ground, but we made it clear that we will not engage in quid pro quo endorsements for his support or anyone else’s,” Keller said.

Rides to the Polls

The Democratic Party of Valencia County wants to ensure that folks can get to the polls. Because there is so much uncertainty about mail-in ballots this year, we are encouraging folks to vote early and vote in-person. We know that can be difficult for people to do and we want to help ensure that anyone that wants to vote can do so.
