🌈 Be Visible. Be Proud. Be Belen. 

This Saturday, October 4th, from 5–8 pm at Eagle Park, a group of local churches is hosting Elevate Belen, a community event focused on what they describe as “biblical values.” 

What they are not promoting is that this is an alternative event to the Drag Queen Bingo event that the City of Belen Employee Appreciation Committee put on this summer. At the time they spoke out against the “moral rot” of the LGBTQIA+ community and vowed to throw an event to highlight the “true” values of Belen.

We know that Belen is a place where all families belong—including our LGBTQIA+ friends, family members, and neighbors. We invite Democrats and allies to join us at Eagle Park—not in protest, but in presence. Let’s come dressed in Pride, with love in our hearts and community in our spirit, so that it’s clear that LGBTQIA+ families are part of Belen, too. 

This is not a counter-protest. It’s about visibility, support, and community. By showing up as our authentic selves, we affirm that love, equality, and inclusion are the true values that make Belen strong. ✨ Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your Pride. Together, let’s make sure Belen reflects all of us.
