Women’s Rally – January 20, 2024

by | Jan 11, 2024 | Belen, Bosque Farms, DPVC News, Los Lunas, Peralta, Valencia News, VCFDW, Women's Issues | 0 comments

As we get closer to January 22, 2024, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we want to tell you about something important. Some people thought that if Roe v. Wade, a law about women’s rights, was changed, it would slow down our progress. But the opposite happened! It made us even more determined to keep fighting for what we believe in. What’s crucial in these fights isn’t just the laws; it’s the power of women working together.

We promise to keep supporting the freedom of choice for everyone when it comes to having children. And guess what? We’re just getting started! Nationally, Women’s March, has a plan is to go to every state and talk to every leader. We are excited to be a small part of that effort. We want politicians everywhere to know that if they try to take away our rights, we’ll make sure they don’t stay in power. We won’t give up until we win!

Looking at recent votes on important issues, we’ve learned something amazing: when people get to vote on whether to keep abortion rights, we usually win. This tells us that most Americans believe in the freedom to make choices about having children.

On January 20, 2024, we’re coming together to send a clear message: We are determined and won’t give up. Our movement isn’t just about one law; it’s about making sure everyone has rights and freedom, now and in the future.

Join us on Saturday, January 20th from 1pm – 3pm at Daniel Fernandez Park. We’ll also have a petition signing event for candidates that need signatures as well as voter registration.
