This episode of DPVC Radio features a conversation with Joan Baker. You might remember Joan as a Past Chair of the Democratic Party of Valencia County but these days she is fighting for Democratic principles in her role as the Political Affairs Director for UA Local 412 in Albuquerque,

Joan Baker

Joan is also its Director of Outreach and Engagement. In addition to her work for Local 412, Joan also sits on the New Mexico Building Trades and Construction Council and has recently been elected to the Executive Board of the New Mexico Federation of Labor.

Our conversation with Joan explores the role that organized labor plays here in Valencia County’s economy and why organized labor isn’t just good for union members but also bolsters our entire community.
