Yes, this is a sequel to the statewide candidate event we hosted in January. But this time, county and local Democratic candidates to elected office must collect signatures from valid voters in order to qualify for next fall’s general election ballot.
Because of this legal requirement, the DPVC is making a big push for petition signatures between now and March 1, 2022. As a major party, county and local Democratic candidates are required to collect 2% of their base constituency to qualify for the ballot. Because of the ongoing covid pandemic, we are collecting signatures at a safe, one-time event. (Besides, the last one was SO SUCCESSFUL that we’re happy to get to do it again!)
- The DPVC is sponsoring our second Drive-Thru Signature event! To make this process as easy as possible for our Valencia Democrats, we are hosting three locations on Saturday, February 26th from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm. This will be a fast way to provide your signature for your preferred candidates without having to download, print, and mail-in several petitions. Here are the locations:

When you arrive, you will be greeted by properly masked volunteers and given a clipboard and instructions to sign all the petitions for non-competitive contests. Then, you will be given the option to sign for your candidate of choice in competitive races. We highly recommend carpooling with family in friends in your Covid Pod! Every Valencia Democrat in your car can sign the petitions as well.

Each voter who signs the petition needs to be registered as a Democrat.
- The signee should print and then sign their name as it appears on the voter registration rolls. (For example, ‘Bill’ may be registered as ‘William.’)
- If two or more people from the same household sign, they need to fill out the address each time.
- No other marks beyond what the signee is required to enter can be on the sheets.
