Voters

WARD and PRECINCT Meetings

Coming Next Month

It's time for the Democrats of Valencia County to gather together again to elect our party leadership for the next two years. We will elect all of the following as part of the Precinct and Ward meetings:

  • new Precinct Chairs and other precinct officers

  • additional members of the County Central Committee (by precinct)

  • new Ward Chairs and other ward officers

  • members of the County Credentials and Rules Revision committee (1 per ward)

  • members of the County Platform & Resolution committee (1 per ward)

Because of the ongoing health and safety restrictions caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, all of our meetings will be virtual (on Zoom) and all of our voting will be done by absentee balloting. The meetings will have phone-in options and the absentee balloting will also have phone-in options.

Any person who has been a registered Democrat in Valencia County for at least 30 days can participate in these meetings and elections. These same qualified Democrats can also run for office in their precinct or ward, or for a county-wide elected position.

  • If you want to participate in the meetings and/or elections, you must fill out a REGISTER to PARTICIPATE form. There is a deadline to register.

  • If you want to run for office in your precinct or ward, or for a county-wide elected position, you must fill out a STATEMENT of CANDIDACY form.

If you are unable to attend your Ward / Precinct meetings on Zoom, you will still be able to vote -- as long as you fill out the REGISTER to PARTICIPATE form before the deadline.

For more information, see the following sections:

REGISTER to PARTICIPATE
in Your Precinct and Ward Elections

Because all of our Ward and Precinct meetings will be held online this year as Zoom meetings, you won't be able to show up on the morning of a Ward meeting and register to participate on-site before the meeting starts. (There is no "on-site" -- participation will be online or by phone.)

Instead, every Democrat in Valencia County can pre-register online (or by phone) to participate in the virtual Ward and Precinct meetings and elections.

All the checking of credentials for voters ("electors") will be done in the days before the Ward meetings start (instead of during the first 30 minutes of the Ward meetings).

Submit Your STATEMENT of CANDIDACY

Do you want to help grow and strengthen the Democratic Party of Valencia County? Do you want to help build the DPVC into a robust and inclusive organization that engages Democrats in the county?

  • Do you want to help organize in your precinct or ward?

  • Do you want to be a member of the DPVC County Central Committee (the "CCC")?

  • Do you want to run for County Chair or Vice Chair?

  • Do you want to be a member of the State Central Committee (SCC) from Valencia County?

If your answer to any of these questions is YES, you will need to submit a STATEMENT of CANDIDACY form so your name will be placed on the appropriate ballot(s).

ABOUT the MEETINGS and the VOTING

Because we're still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Ward and Precinct and CCC meetings and elections are going to be very different from the in-person meetings we are all used to joining.

This year our meetings and elections will be all virtual, and we will be voting remotely via absentee balloting.
